This event aims to provide a platform for young people in West Dunbartonshire to gain an insight and advice into ‘working in the creative industries,’ through a live question and answer session with a cross section panel of experienced industry professionals. In addition there will be skatepark demos from the internationally acclaimed Street Trials Pro Rider Danny McKaskil and local Pro BMX riders Chaz Mailey and Connor Mailey and a exiting live showcase from up and coming Glasgow band Vukovi as well as a guest support slot for a fresh new local live act. The event will take place on 17th September 3pm-10pm.
Those who will answer questions are Dee Bahl who manages Biffy Clyro. Dee Bahl is the long standing manager of the hugely successful rock band, Biffy Clyro. He runs the 1554 Management company and is also a former music industry lecturer at Glasgow’s Stow College.
  Ally McCrae is best known as the presenter of BBC Radio 1 Scotland’s show and as co-creator of Detour Scotland. Ally McCrae is an alumnus of Stirling University where he obtained a degree in Media Studies and was the head of Stirling University’s Air3 student radio station.
  Danny MacAskill is a Scottish street trials pro-rider and You Tube phenomenon and has been featured in the New York Times, has appeared in a Hollywood production as a stuntman also in a TV-commercial for the new Volkswagon Golf Estate and was nominated for the Action Sportsperson of the Year Category at the Lareus World Sports Awards.
Ally Gray is managing director of EMU Bands digital solutions. They distribute digital media content on behalf of artists and labels through syncing platforms such as iTunes, Play, Shazam and Gracenote. EMU Bands also provides international licencing opportinities across TV, Film and other Media through a network of music supervisors, music consultancies and advertising agencies across the world.
  Laura-Jane Clements is the Marketing and Events Executive for the GMG Radio Group which involves her looking after the local marketing/events for Real Radio, Rock Radio and Smooth Radio. Responsible for developing marketing campaigns that promote promote products and services for these radio stations. This includes planning, advertising, public relations, organize events, distribution, sponsorship and research.
  David Stanton is a Glasgow based photographer. Working freelance allows him to work in the beauty/fashion, editorial and press areas of the business as well as producing landscapes for fine art buyers. He has been published in many magazines and newspapers both nationally and internationally. These magazines include Professional Photographer Magazine, Digital Photo Magazine and Practical Photography magazine on a regular basis. The newspapers include the News of the World, Sunday Post and other papers. He has also been published widely on the web both commercially and in art based sites.
  Jim Gellatly is a Scottish radio presenter and DJ. He currently presents the New Music show In:Demand Uncut (Bauer Radio) across Scotland ,a weekly showcase on the UK-wide DAB digital radio station Amazing Radio and presents on Clyde 1. Gellatly is credited as the first radio DJ to play KT Tunstall, Glasvegas, Biffy Clyro, The Fratellis, Twin Atlantic, The Enemy among others. Jim will be compere for the event.

Buses will provide free transport from Bonhill, Bellsmyre, Castlehill, Brucehill, Meadow Centre, Faifley and Whitecrook and those who may want to make their own way to the venue can do so. Everyone is welcome (12-18 years old) both girls and boys and you may attend as an individual or with friends and be part of a team playing other teams.

A consent form must be filled out, if you are over 16 you may do this but if younger than 16 a parent/guardian must complete it. If you have an interest in music why not come along to the Skatepark on a Friday night where Tommy Regan (WDC Music Motivator) will help you create music using the latest technolgy offered by Ipads. You will be able to create music, loop it and sample it through the interlinked Ipads. You will have a wealth of instruments to experiment with and will be shown techniques to develop your sound and by adding vocals songs can be made and refined. The music sessions are held every Friday night 7-8pm at the skatepark, Unit 23, 45-50 Castlegreen Street, The Old Bond, Dumbarton, G82 1JD.
